I have been pulled over for both loud music and noisy exhaust in my time. Both times they stated that I was Disturbing the Peace however I was just warned on both occasions. No ticket so I was fortunate.

Well I finally managed to talk to someone about the noise by-law, and asked for clarification and some referance numbers.
Needless to say the person on the other end of the phone didn't know anything about what a dB is and started reading from here http://vancouver.ca/bylaws/6555c.PDF , and when a number was mentioned ("55") she could not say whether it was "A" weighted or otherwise.
Keeping in mind that ambient city noise at 11:00Pm, with no traffic nearby, I get a reading of 62.9 dB on my Scosche meter.
So.., if you come to Vancouver, be vewy vewy quiet!
I think it's rabbit season!
