I cashed the ones in that I bought as a kid last year and am thinking about buying some Premium Bonds this year. How about everyone else? Which ones and how much?

I bought a whopping $600 worth back in 98. I cashed them in this spring to buy my truck

Only made $113 on them I believe but not a bad investment I guess. My RRSPs made about the same amount percentage-wise [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img]

I think you are better off buying something else. The ones you bought "as a kid" actually had a decent return, the bonds now are barely above inflation if not lower!

contact your bank and inquire about term deposits/ GIC's under promotion. most banks have short term closed products that pay 2-3 % (mine has 3% for 6 months).

you can always negotiate on the higher term investments (go for the open ones for flexibility). market rates will most likely slightly edge out the CSB and will be open.
