Both womens teams managed to pull a medal lol

Was listening to the radio at work today after the game ended and they were blaming Quinn. Saying he was using the Leafs plays etc. If they aren't working for Toronto, I wonder what made him think they'd work for Team Canada.... lol He's so getting fired this year I can see it! lol

It was a great game, they just couldn't solve the goaltending. Everyone played well, Russia just managed to play better.

Gretzky choose the team that best suited our chances to win. You can bitch and complain about it all you want but the fact is, Gretzky knows hockey. You don't. Don't chew out a guy for picking a team that should have won but the players didn't step up to the expectations.

Gretzky himself said the team was based on the past performance and history at the Salt Lake games, and thats stupid and Ive felt that way since day 1. Why would you take guys like Draper & Doan yes they are grinders but their are younger kids who are gritty players but they score goals. The fact is that he was too scared to use some younger blood and hoped that if they had 90% of the team from 2002 they would repeat, guess what it didnt happen and they lost to a Russian team that was not afraid to bring in some younger players, Malkin and Ovechkin they are the Crosby and Spezza/Staal of Russia and look whos moving on.

The team had no chemistry and no one stepped up to the plate when they needed and they should have taken one of two of the younger guys form the Taxi squad and tossed them in to see what would have happened, whats the worst that could have happened, they could have lost, well they did anyways. The fact is this mens Hockey Canada the bed and came home empty handed.

I blame patty quinn and the coaching style...


I almost snapped about 30 times....watching them attempt a dump n chase on the power play, but the defensive team continueally icing the puck. Why they didn't try and carry the puck in for a change arg.

But yeah...maybe it's time to look up the sutter brothers. They seem to have some ideas about coaching.....and the ability to make happen.

The best teams in the tournament were the Checks, the Fins and the Swedes. The Canucks and the US team were short on teamwork and dedication to the game. The final men's results were close to what I saw as the intensity level given by each team (the Fins were incredible from start to finish). If it wasn't for Lundqvist the Fins would have won. The Checks and the Fins were moping around after their games and obviously put it all on the ice to win (the Russians didn't play their best game in the bronze metal game (they looked like the USA team))
