So...it's a semi nice out today. I'm done my 8h work day at 1:30pm so i come home and i think...alright not a bad day i'll take the gay pinstriping off my jeep. So i get home....grab the heat gun go manually unlock each door, and then the back door and roll down each window there's no auxillary ignition thingy on the vehicle, so i have to turn the key partially forward till the lights are on and i have music now i begin taking the 2 lines of pinstriping which go all the way around the vehicle off. I got the thin line of the back and one side done...and start in on the thicker line....should be easier, won't tear so easy. I peel a bit of it off only to find 2 totally new super thin lines of gay pinstriping hiding underneath it.

HOLY ****!!!

So...i finish taking off all the gay pinstriping (the thicker blue and the gay pink). Then
then i start in on these two new lines that go all the way around the vehicle...those ****in things are on therea good...it's like they put em on then put a clear coat over them....can't even get er started so...now i'm ****ed...dunno what i'm gonna do.

****

took the jeep out anyways, got it washed...jeep is hella clean now...cept there's kinda two dirty lines all the way around the vehicle...kinda like some glue stuck on a bit or something...and yeah....have to probably get that cut waxed...and maybe get other gay pinstriping removed.

it's a grand cherokee se....

it feels like pinstiping cause you can feel a small bump there...but it also feels like it was covered with something...it can't be painted on...other wise you wouldn't feel anything....either way it's kinda pissing me off...i think the jeep would look good all white...with the black moulding. Put the clear corner lens' on the other day to help that black and white them...but now theres a red and black line all the way around sum bitch!

you certianly will, if you look closely at the stripes where they stop or start, like on the edge of a door or fender, are the ends kinda rounded, and not square cut?

hmmm didn't realize you'd feel painted on pinstriping. Very Interesting.

Good idea on checking to see whether they're curved or rounded at the ends. I'll have a look after work...if they're rounded, i assume that means they're painted on which means i'll probably have to track down the original buyer of this vehicle from the factory and kill him/her. If thats note the case and it is pinstriping...then i'll probably have to find someone else to kill...maybe the people that had the pinstriping on...or possibly the ones who put it on.

All in all, thanks for the replies above...i should be able to answer my questions with them...and for the heck of it, i'll let ya know the outcome of what i find

ok..yeah...turns off they're rounded when they stop for the doors n what not....so i'd guess that means they're painted on. Is that correct?

yeah they're painted. you "COULD" if you are extremely careful, use a light grit sandpaper, like 1000 grit or finer, and sand them off, being careful to only sand the stripe itself. the polish the gloss back. wetsanding with a wax and grease remover, which can be bought where you buy the sandpaper will help alot, and speed it up. or you could use the lazy way out and just stripe over them with white stripe tape
