I need to rent a car in 3 weeks for the weekend, and I'm wondering if its possible for an 18 year old to rent a car. I know is says 25 or 21 on the sites, but I called and they said that sometimes the companies rent to younger people in certain circumstances. Anyone?

^^ Not exactly.

A parent can't just rent it and let him drive it because he wouldn't be insured.

When you rent it make sure that your name is added to the contract.

Some places won't even allow someone under 21 to be a secondary driver so check in to that

Is that true? what if the Parents dont have a licence but the person who its gonna be for is under 21 years old. could the parent still rent for them or do they need a licence aswell. I guess not cause if the parents dont have licence they cant be insured, or would have to pay more on insurance.

No, if you don't have a license you can't rent a car.

The parent rents the car and just puts the person under 21 as a secondary driver.

Another thing to consider, I had one hell of a time renting a car in Edmonton without a credit card.

They told me cash was not secure enough!

i know that when i was in my accident that you HAD to be over 19 to drive the rental car . and if you were under the age of 21 they charged an extra 5 bucks a day .
