I just installed a copy of XP, My windows media player wont play any video, if it does it will show in a tone that is really not the way to see video, it plays sounds while the video is running. If I open winamp and play a video then I open media played to play another video then the windows media player works fine but the one that was initially open the winamp plays the odd way as I explained before. Is this a settings problem or do I have to find a codec or a plug-in?

Any of them will work even the Basic so the choice is up to you.

what your describing is definatly a codec issue.
