Hey, I am running an old IBM Aptiva 550mhz machine, Windows 98, using Telus DSL. Many times on this board or on the internet in general, I will click to go to another thread and the machine stalls. It shows the blue line at the bottom that indicates that it should be working, but I usually have to hit the refresh button a few times, or reopen the browser. Any one know of it could be my internet connection, or the machine? I recently did a Windows update. Any ideas? Thanks!

Your web browser may need a patch or an update that you don't have installed yet. Or there could be another bug in your system. It could be any number of things. I would go to Microsofts website. And see if there are any critical updates, drivers that your computer or browser needs!

Could be how busy the site server is. Could be browser settings. See if you can reset browser settings in Advanced internet options and setting defaults on the Security options. Sometimes you need to cycle power on the DSL modem too.

Oh, don't forget to clear the temp folder!

Windows 98 is one of MS more solid OSs. ^^ I agree, try cleaning out the TEMP folder, and defraging your hard drive - maybe run through everything on your maintainence wizard.

Thanks everybody! I run Ad-Aware daily, I clean out cookies, temp, history daily, and I defragged last night. Will do the other things listed.
