Crappy tire navigation system

Anybody seen this? I don't think that you can go wrong. For 400 bucks you get navigation, touchscreen, and a 30gb hd. For the price, it sure looks like an amazing unit. Has anybody seen this in person? I might buy one to screw around with, and if it sucks, return it, if it actually works well, keep it. When I first saw it, I thought for sure it was a misprint, but I guess not.

The marketing department of Pioneer bought two of these MacVision units when they came out a couple weeks ago for evaluation.
While they don't really compare in navigation database or operation compared to the installed models from Pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood, etc. it's pretty similar to the Clarion N.I.C.E.
A portable unit will never be as good as an installed unit as they solely rely on GPS & have no vehicle speed sensor or gyro sensors to help positioning. But, as you mentioned, it's $399.99!!
In the tests that Pioneer ran on the units, both did lock up in mid-calculation a few times & had to be reset. Also, they have a very limited map database & evidently when a route is plotted & a detour is made it DOESN'T RE-ROUTE!
The 30GB hard drive is also a nice option but with playback through the built-in speakers it sounds pretty bad.
All in all, if this type of unit gets people interested in navigation products then it's a good thing for everybody in the mobile electronics industry.

I grabbed one to try out and compare to my NICE...
What a royal piece of junk. It's frustrating and annoying to use... Especially the lack of re-routing.. No FM Modulator, only Canadian roads (major US highways only), no video, no rear-view camera, no Sirius..
Pioneer guy, I'll send the NICE out to you so you can see how perfectly it works without a speed sensor input. Or, just read the review in Road Gear - "Best GPS unit I've ever used" Was the quote as I recall.
