Yeah...I found them online at Sears...$1200!!
I dont think so!
I'm going to have to squeeze the belt a little tighter to do about $500...But we will see what the raise does to the paycheck..maybe able to do a bit more..

Ok so I've decided to go new..
Now the question is:Fullsize or countertop?
If the countertop does pots and pans as wel as regular dishes,I'll go that route, but if not I'll look for a Fullsize...
Any input here...

Aaron its all on personal opinion man.
Countertop its louder and more awkward as well as takes up space on your counter top.
Although you can remove it if for some reason you move out or it may also be easier to sell later down the road if you decide to get something else or what not.
Fullsize if for some reason you have a lot of dishes to do its easier, its there, it'll add to the value of your house I suppose in a way if you move? its more common. And IMO more powerful. Takes up less space if being put into/under a counter. You'll still have that counter top.

I would think he would get a rolling or convertible unit rather than a built in.. Do they offer apartment size convertibles? Might be the best way.
My mother has a countertop unit. She used it for a fair bit at first and it did a good enuf job even for her picky tastes. Now it sits though cuz she only fills it up about once a week and cannot stand that well rinsed 90% clean dishes are sitting in it until it runs.
Also - regardless of what you buy it is always a good idea to rinse your plates off and, like Furley, I keep pots and pans to the sink.

Thats cuz its $500 Chizzer 
lol We actually had a blender/food processor that said machine washable for all the parts and the one day we put them in there the next the parts didnt fit they were warped. Thanks to hot water but either way it said 'dishwasher safe'

So I went pricing dishwashers today...
The going price for a base model full size is about $500..no bells or whistles...
For an extended warranty is about $100 no matter where I go for 5 yrs full coverage..
This is the top of my list so far...Slightly smaller design so I think it would work better in my small place...$499.99

I actually applied for finacing on the first one, but was turned down due to the bankruptcy...so will need to wait til next month when I will have some extra disposable cash...

My parents bought a Bosch dishwasher when they moved into their new house two years ago. It's so quite, you can watch TV in the living room with it running 15 feet away and not hear a thing. Also, the dishes come out nice and clean.
You'd think that wouldn't be a concern, right?
The dishwasher that came with my house has a tendancy to simply the bread crumbs and whatnot evenly around all the dishes in there. Often I have to rinse off what comes out of it. How happy does that make me???
Miele also makes phenominal dishwashers. And Kitchenaid is very good.
My only word of advice, steer clear of Maytag. They have repeatedly gotten poor scores in consuemer reports and my friends dryer has required three service calls in two years.
