dub love
A Stage 2 supercharged VR will give you approx. 280HP. Run that with LSD and you'd smoke that POS...
Anything over 300HP in a dub is a waste... even with the LSD. You have to go AWD by swaping in the synchro drivetrains... Talk to the boys at HPA Motorsports...

It's kinda cool, but with 700hp turboed VR6's from Momentum motorsports it wouldn't be something I'd look into.

i think the Caddy swap might be cheaper in the long run.... or work out to be about the same costs..... </font>
The Caddy engine probably weighs double what the VR6 does. I wouldn't bother. The front of a Golf is heavy enough without adding a few hundred more pounds.

better traction yes ..........bad handling yes
weight distribution should be as close to 50/50 as possible for good handling
but who cares if it's practicle or even all that useable ..........it's ultra cool
you lift that hood and you're gonna get somw wow factor for sure
bet she'd lay one hell of a strip

I'm my mind its better to buy a car with a honkin big engine to start with and put a few simple bolt-ons in there, than to totally mod an old car up and arrive at the same HP figures as the new cars that are being built.
CM.
yes it is good to start off with somwthing newer and better BUT... newer and better is gonna cost a lot more...
i dont know what that vw cost to build but i would say its a whole lot less than your car...
i am building a mustang budget is about 3-4g`s including the cost of the car... (it has a big block in it [460 cid])....so lets say i put about 5 grand more in to the car over some time, to get it to handle, so for about 10 g`s i`ll have a car that has a ton of power and can handle... you can buy any thing new for that coin and have the handleing/power....
