OK, this is for the dope smoking crack heads out there!!

Weight distribution - the best is 60/40 and with the higher weight in the rear - why? hit the brakes and you'll know, it turns into a 50/50 weight to axle ratio which equals safe controlable braking. That is why a 911 Porsche handles like it does, with the greatest amount of weight infront of the rear axle, unlike a Beetle is is tail heavy and shows it!

the Golf/Rabbit A1 > where always front heavy, inside rear tire always lifts off the ground in hard corners, a V8 with 300+ hp equals uncontrolable torque steer issues, so much so that you could hit the curb trying to accelerate out of a corner - who would have thought! Oh yes, that's why Chrysler varied all the FWD axles, lengths, etc, to eliminate torque steer, and they never found the answer...

True...in strict power to weight ratios there is quite a difference. If I recall, the best $/HP figure is for an Ford F150 Lightning. Kia's vehiles are also a good value by that $/HP rating as well. lol

Any dealer will freak when you come in with modified vehicles. VW is no exception. Their dealers are know for their **** like attitude towards mods. I used to have an 87 Scirocco. They had a fit about the air filter, and aftermarket rotors and pads I had in there.

I got plenty of Dub Love yo. I had my heart set on a new VW Jetta GLI since they came out. There were a lot of donwnsides about the car though. The lack of horsepower, only black cloth interior, and the high finance rates. All of which made me choose another vehicle. If I'm paying $32k+ for a car I had better be darn sure its the most I can get for my money.

I'm just saying that new vehicles with nice fat HP ratings are starting to appear. VW has not kept up with the trend towards higher HP ratings. The VW VR6 only has 205HP? Thats just not enough compared to offerings from Honda, Accura, and Nissan, and Dodge (SRT-4 comes to mind).

the new passat W8 has some power
granted its a "v8" (kinda)

"4.0L 270 horsepower, 273 lbs-ft torque, 8 cylinder, 72º W, 4V, gas" [from vw.com]

this is only avalable in the passat w8, and i think the plans are to discontinue it.. so i dont know...
