I have this cheap Nutech burner 8X paid 110$ for it after tax not one issue I have burner about 70 dvd's with it and not 1 coaster yet.

i have a pioneer, got for xmas last year, burned well near 200 dvds and not a single problem

It's the same idea as them cheap *** dvd players you can buy they will play everything out there but that 800$ dvd player will do just a dvd and maybe mp3.. doesn't always mean top notch is the only way to go.

I have the LG model. Good burner, comes with pretty flimsy software..but it is a good burner for the price.

i'd say the most important aspect would be all the dual layer technology and what'll work with what.

I've read into all that an researched it, but that was a bit ago, i'm sure ****'s changed, not to mention i've forgotten it all - as i'm wondering the same things, but am too lazy to research it again.

I have an LG one that came with Nero, works excellent [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img] I'd look into dual layer or wait for the latest.

I didn't bother with Dual layer cause it's only 2.4X right now, and most of the movies you can squeeze onto normal dvd 5 without losing video quality most movies are like 4.5 gig remove the French 5.1 and dts and there ya go.. I will wait till it gets to 4x dual layer as of right now not a major concern.
