If your DVD player seems to lpay one type moreso than others, just buy those. Computers will typically read both perfectly, game consoles are often quite picky. Some game consoles even come with different players inside that make them picky that way too.

DVD-RAM is a pain in the ****. If differs from - and + in that player/recorders can read and write to them at the same time; that's why DVD video recorders like using them (they can buffer info and write it while you're reviewing). They're not worth the plastic and tin they're made of and are ONLY useful if some random device actually requires them (namely, my buddy's crappy DVD camcorder that uses the mini ones).
