Fargin Bastich Cougar
Lame weapon for it IMO, don't miss & get real close. LOL
By that I mean get very close to the cougar when you take the shot. Like you may have to get him to lunge @ you then shoot. A shotgun of any gauge would not be my weapon of choice for downing a cougar. Do yourself a favor & GET A RIFLE or maybe a good ole' 357 magnum. LOL
A shotgun is not going to cut it. It's not a good choice at all. Your just going to end up wounding it, & that's really gonna **** him off.

Well it was was what available at the time. And from 30 feet and elevated, a shotgun will make a mess of pretty much anything. So the bastich didn't show up last night but we heard shots (3) just down the road around 8:00 last night.
Our badly mauled ewe succumbed to her injuries yesterday as well. Ms Tuner is not doing to well as her animals are pets. I'll have to figure out a nice way to sneak another one into the barn without her seeing me do it. She's watching anything that moves right now.
<EDIT> I should point out as well, that in no way are we going to step outside of the legal means at our disposal to remove this problem cat. We will of course stay within the laws of Province of British Columbia as it relates to use of a firearm, hunting and protecting ones livestock.

Not quite on the 12 gauge. Poor choice! You really think that a conservation officer or hunter for that matter would use a 12 gauge (or any guage) shotgun on a cougar? Don't think so......
So now we have a wounded 100+lb. cougar one the loose in your neighborhood? Any word about the gun shots you heard? I'm not impressed.

^I already considered he may be using slugs, & it's still a very poor choice for downing a COUGAR. What do you know about shooting slugs or shotguns for that matter? Enlighten me with your vast experience on firearms & their ammunitions....
If you had any real clue in regards to APBT's or BSL you would know that APBT's do not weigh 100lbs. LOL

Wake up and give your heads a shake, sedate that cougar and move him to where there is no human population or livestock!

He's not a problem cougar. A conservation officer won't even shoot a bear if it attacks a human when defending it's young or is startled. The only times they will actually go out and shoot a bear is if it attacks a human for a food source.
Has this cougar done that yet? What did that conservation officer say about this "problem cougar"?
My wife and I are very schooled when comes to wildlife (she also grew up in a national park). So go hump someone else's leg, because your attitudes are pissin me off.
