Does anybody own a Foosball table? My dad is building a new house, and we are looking for one. We had a nice pool table but sold it. The house we are building is smaller then our old one, so we have to find something to replace it.

We have about $500-$800 (cdn) to spend on one. 2 of my buddies have tables, and they are alot of fun. They are really really good tables (polls slide nice, and they are SOLID) One of my buddies dad picked one up in an Expo back in 1988, and my other buddy doesnt know where he got his from.

So, for the people that have a foosball table, where did you pick it up from, how much, and is it any good? I dont want a cheap one like you would find in the Sears or Wal-mart cataloge lol.

There is stuff online, but because I live in Manitoba, im kind leary about ordering one online. (most of the sites are from based out of US) I checked a few local Games Room places, but they dont offer much, or anything at all.

We are also looking for a good air hockey table. Any suggestions would help

Dufferin is closed now no?

I believe they've gone bankrupt.

I had a friend who was going to build his own, but the kits cost almost as much as a good commercial one.

If you've played one that you like @ a bar or wherever, get the name off of it and look it up the web - you'll be able to find who sells it and you'll know what to expect when it arrives

The only tables that I have played on that I have really liked have been Tornado tables. They run from $1000 american +.

I would agree with your earlier statement about staying away from CTC or Sears - You don't have the same ball control with those tables; their rods are more flexible and have more play in them, and the bearings wear out quickly.

Have you considered buying used from the paper/internet etc?

We had a $500 foos in residence in our suite. The only problem with it is that the rods bent rather easily. Spend a little more and try and find a foos with rods that aren't so bendable. I forget the name of the table we had. Foosball kicks ***!

I got his Wal-mart reference mixed up with DWVW's reference to CTC.
