Anyone catch the permier of The Greatest Canadian on CBC tonight?
For somthing that is supposed to be greatly patriotic and symbolic to Canada, they sure did a good job bashing alot of the top 50. I certainly agree with some of the choices, but there is no need to get out there and slander some of Canada's finest.

Missed it. My buddy and I were arguing about it. He said it would no doubt be Wayne Gretzkey. While Wayne is the ambassidor to hockey and dear in our hearts as Edmonton Area people he would never be considered the greatest canadian. He lived in the United States since 88. He's not even a real canadian anymore.
Terry Fox has always been my greatest hero
His legacy still lives on.... It's actually amazing because it keeps growing every year and the commemorative runs for Cancer are now held the world over.
Because of Terry's unselfish deed, so many gained life....What an amazing gift he gave... .

One of the things that kinda ticked me off with the show was they had 3-4 people who were in the top 50 that weren't even CANADIAN!!! I mean WTF?
Also, I am probably going to get flammed for this, but I have to agree with Michael Landsburg is correct in saying that there isn't one hockey player out there that should be in the top 50. Let alone the top 10. Other than provide entertainment, what have they given to Canada? What have they provided our society? Comparing them to great political leaders like Trudeau and inventors like buddy who made insulin, is not quite right IMO.

As far as the non-Canadian's there were a couple British dudes that hepled win the war of 1812 and one other guy I can't remember. The site only lists alphabetically, not in the top 50 like they did last night.
