Sonar, and adobe audition (cool edit pro) are my favourites for software. Did you check to see if your amp had a line out?

 

no line out just a cheapo amp to match my entry level Washburn for now till I get better. than line 6 looks sweet but I cant afford that at the moment. I will look into the suggested software though. i guess the signal output direct from the guitar is pretty low though huh? I know its not good to plug it directly into a stereo receiver cause you have to crank the reciever volume to get any sound.

 

yeah, the level out of a guitar pickup is about mic level, Thus the need for a preamp.

oh, how about a headphone jack? have one of them? hehe that might do the trick, on the cheap. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Yea, get yourself a 1/8 adapter for your patch cable and then plug in to your soundcard....that's the easiest/cheapest solution. Then find someone like me, with a copy of Sonar 3 and you'll be set.

Nothing wrong with Washburn guitars either man...I think a lot of people buy them cause they look cool and Dimebag uses them...but in all honesty they make great, playable guitars.

the amp has a headset jack, I thought of that option last night I'll try that out. we get the internet hooked up on tuesday, then I can swashbuckle some software.
