Has anyone else played the Halo 3 Beta yet?

I downloaded it yesterday, and I must say it is pretty awesome, love the new bubble shield and the laser cannon. The 3 new levels are also awesome, I like them very much.

 

You downloaded it? DOes that me you have the special edition of crackdown? Or is there some other magical way I'm unaware of?

 

Special edition of crackdown, but you could also have gotten it by friends and family from bungie or their rule of three thing (play 3 hours of halo 2 then sign up)
It's pretty dope, I like it, can't wait for the full version!

 

I'm downloading the Beta as we speak. I don't really care about multi-player. I'm more looking forward to the solo campaign. But, this will hold me over until September.

 

Well, after playing for about a half hour my initial impressions are, it looks exactly like Halo 2. Only in HD. Which isn't a bad thing. But, I sure hope they sharpen those visuals up before launch.

 

Supposedly Halo 3 will also be able to run in full 1080p (which is great for those who have 1080p TV's) and I hope that doesn't mean that they have to sacrifice the visuals for 720p too. I know the final version will look better, but by how much? I have no idea.

I do like the three new levels alot, and the weapons seem a bit more balanced

 

I'm sure they'll polish everything up for it's release. I also realize that sometimes multi-player sections of games don't always look as detailed as the solo campaign. I've noticed this on several retail games I own. I'd be surprised if they got this thing to run smooth enough to display it in 1080p. In fact, I'd be surprised if they even get the framerate to run at a constant 30+fps even in 720p. But, you never know!

Side note to what I did play today -

I was playing with a guy that had like, 15 kills within 1 minute, maybe 2. Which is kind of funny when you consider the beta has been out for what, a day, maybe two. Guy must **** it a lot!

 

is this out for pc?

 

Halo 2 comes out for the PC on Tuesday. I believe it only works with Vista though. And Halo 3 will likey stay exclusive to the 360 for at least a good year or two.
