OK so I was using my comp yesterday and all of a sudden Norton popped up and told me I had an infected file, I chose to quarentine it and as soon as I did that it said I had another, it did this about five times in a row as I kept quarentining them. Until I realized that I didn't think it was going to stop so I turned my comp off and rebooted it. Then I went to run a Norton scan and it said I was missing a DLL file that was needed to run the scan. So the virus messed something in Norton up. So I had to uninstall Norton and I do not have the disc for it because I installed it with a friend's disc and he does not have it anymore. I do not want to boot my comp up until I know I can find a little virus program to scan my comp and make sure all is well. I don't want to boot it up and have the virus or whatever the problem is corrupting more files! Does someone know of a free virus program or something I can download to scan my comp? I know I saw someone on here a while back talking about a free program that they used? Someone help me out please!

 

you can also do a free online scan at www.trendmicro.com, i recommend doing this before you install an antivirus for your comp, if the virus is attacking your antivirus scanner, it will probably attack the one you install as well. Cleaning it out before you install an antivirus would be the best solution.
