Anyone here know someone that owns a baloon and may want to compete for prize money and bragging rights?

Vernon hosts Western Canada`s largest Winter Carnival and is looking for more baloons and pilots to join in the fun.

This is my first yr as a crew member and looks to be alot of fun. We are hoping to get upto 50 baloons in the next 3 years and up the prizes and monies paid out.

Just though you might know someone thats interested.

 

My friend from high school made a baloon.

But I dont think he wants to fly cross country to compete, at least not yet.

This is kinda cool.

While at the meeting they introduced this foreigner that had built his own ballon and steel basket.

Something about a communist country they had to escape, loading the family into a basket to escape to freedom.

Cant remember the whole thing, but he built it all in secret otherwise if the govt found out, his family would be impisoned or worse.

He brought his baloon to display, so i am gonna check it out and figure out the whole story.

 

I remeber when Armstrong had the ballon rendezvous, it was way cool seeing 20 balloons at night all lit up. It's also real damn annoying when you are trying to sleep at 7:00 am and all you hear is some guy firing the gas burner as he cruises just above your house for what seems like forever.
