how do you make a dvd from avi files/clips?
Hey guys...i made one of these way back when, but no idea what software i used. Now trying to do it, it seems i need a program to convert avi into the dvd audio and video files, and then i could burn em with nero or similar.
Is there a better way to do this or a program which will allow me to add programs as avi's or similar and automatically burn them in a dvd format.

well. I have nero and I just pop the avi. files into it and it converts then burns and they work fine.
www.afterdawn.com is a good site to find all the stuff you want to do. if you go in the nero section there is a write up of what you do to convert avi to dvd.
yeah I dunno if i answered your question but go there im sure you can find somethin for your situation.

as well, will dvd players now a days play avi files? or more so my in dash head unit (IVA-w200). Apparenlty it'll play all popular stuff, but i dunno if even a regualr dvd is meant to read avi files or what not.

I use Nero 6 Ultra Edition. You can simply drag and drop or click add files and the program will automatically set it all up. You can customize the look of the menu's, backrounds, pictures on the menu's, etc... The program will automatically set it up and burn it so players recognize it as a regular DVD. All mine have played in every DVD player I've tried. My home player is over 2 years old as is others I've used them in. Works great! I have the full program if you'd like it, let me know.
