Tax Break? I did it for the cheap car insurance. We recently got a check for our roof from a hail storm. My brother in law wasn't working so he volunteered to do the roof. Guess who got voluntold to help him, and guess who ended up doing all the crap work. I will post pics sometime when I feel like it. Oh and it was 30+ the whole week we did it.

 

Lord I feel the pain...

In 2 weeks I am renting a dumpster and GUTTING my basement to repair the fricken cindercrete walls that are starting to bow in....

Good news is you can get away with your home being in a various state of home improvement for years.. My personal pet peeve is baseboards.. Haven't replaced teh ones in either bedroom we renovated a few years back... I did in the bathroom just cause it was like 8ft total and I used stick on [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Oh I've already got my winter work plan laid out for me....I guess Im gonna re-drywall the basement, install laminate in our house and wouldnt you know it when you put in flooring you MUST put in new baseboards.

I was looking forward to relaxing winter after I get laid off for the season and just having a nice 9-5 gig but I dont see that happening [img]graemlins/freak.gif[/img] [img]graemlins/cry.gif[/img]

 

Terry, wanna trade? My wife will not tolerate unfinished stuff. I redid our real hardwood floors and the baseboards were back on the second we had the sealer dry.

We should start a voluntold support group.

I came to the conclusion lately that I can't finish large projects.. and since I'm dealing with one of life's largest investments I'm going to start paying people to do it for me...

 

Paul, what else are you supposed to use? Carpet is against building code.
