Yes there are more cats then these scalely reptiles.. probably because chicks dont dig iguanas too much.. and they dont exactly hug you back or whatever.
your right... there is a lot more cats... out of all my friends.. I only know one person that has a reptile. yet I know of 5 guy friends and 4 chick friends that have cats.
I know if I were to ever see lizard on the loose.. it would be all of 10 minutes before somebodies cat gobbles it up.. or even just toy it around like a little rag-doll. So your right about not seeing one running down allee's or streets

Cats, lizards, dogs whatever, pets are pets, they're around to provide companionship and entertainment (that one could get you in trouble with peta, but they're crazy)
I prefer dogs over cats, but in a condo situation and the fact we travel, a cat is a more logical choice as we can leave here for 3-4 days and know she won't eat her food and then starve or chew up the house.

i dont know how a lizard contributes to an enviroment it lives in but you cant say cats are useless. only b/c you have never had a use for a cat that's an ignorant thing to say. and to say that you would actually kill one makes it even worse.
u did your research on lizards and now u should do one on cats.

I have my own cat (well I kinda inherited it) and I think he's the coolest ****.... he'll ****in rip into any cat and own it! BUT I still want to beat this other cat more.... I got a hold of him and grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and held him in the air for about 10 mins, he was hissing and growling and me..... like I cared, this is half of what's coming to that bastard..... Prolifik..... shut up dood, I hate your posts, there is nothing nice or useful about them, OF COURSE a lizard has an effect on it's environment..... it's eating the bugs that might kill some gardener's plants, it's adding it's **** (litteraly) as compost to his garden, they help TONNES!!! and cats are useless, what do they do, ****in sit around all day sleeping and eating.... and look at what a dog does, keeps you in shape, get's your paper and you have a good companion.... and yes my cat does eat tons of bugs too

As far as me wanting to kill a cat, obviously you have never lived on a farm where if its a problem animal, it gets shot. Period. Sorry if it sounds harsh, but its true. I don't have a hatered for all cats, well thats not really true. I can't stand 99% of them.
LIzards on the other hand naturally occur in the wild and provide back to their ecosystems they live in. They control alot of the insect population in many areas. They also control vegitation in many areas which cause replanting of seeds (found in their droppings) which spark new growth. Take the Galapagos Marine and Land Iguana's for example. They eat the algae from the rocks and seabed spawning the circulation of plantlife. I'll admit, Darwin must have thought they were usless too when he discovered the Galapagos and studied the Iguanas for years.
Lastly they are also a basic step in the food chain for many other preditor animals. Its a darker side of a lizards life but its a part of it. I guess cats are a part of the food chain if you like Chinese food 
But I am done playing this little game. If you don't like my comments about cats fine. I am entitled to my opinion. Just as I respect others opinions about cats. I don't have to agree with it, just respect it. Take it as you will.
