whats the difference between the gen 1 and gen 2?

 

wifi to my knowledge is present in all version of the touch

for the difference between both gen here's a nice thread so be careful if you have old ipod accessories with the gen 2

 

im still confused as to what the difference is aside from charging devices and accessories.

do these things have a speaker or only head phone jack?

 

they have speakers, but they are very poor ones.

 

my friend has ipod touch with wife but no speaker. this is more confusing than it needs to be.

i want ipod touch with wifi and built in speaker. which one do i buy?

 

I dunno what to tell you, AFAIK they all have a speaker (not visible)
I have the 16gig 2nd gen and it has both, wifi and a speaker.

1st gen (cardboard box), 2nd gen (plastic retail case.)



I just checked, they all have wifi. and only the 2nd gen has external speaker

 

can you play music on the speaker? i read somewhere that its ment for things like alarms and such.

 

if it's quiet and you're not too far away, it plays music and movies just fine....as well as web content like youtube (youporn in your case)...etc

 

as long as i can hear the moans when playing youporn im sold

 

1st gen has the speaker only for alarms and beeps, 2ng gen has a full speaker
1st gen has wifi, so does second

Biggest difference is that 2nd gen's are able to accept imic and iphone headphones I think, so you can run VOIP apps... so good

You can do it with 1st gens but its a pain
