All the RCMP cops I have seen in our Vision/Hearing clinic say they are not allowed to have laser done because of the potential night driving problems.

Opens application package to confirm..... yup laser eye correction is good to go. The bad news this morning, my ear testing is abnormal, 40db loss in both ears at around 3000hz, the limit is 30db from 500-3000. Grrrr. hopefully just a mild ear infection right now or a real picky testing machine.

EEEK the hearing test, that's the part I'm worried about when I go in for my Police Testing. Any way to cheat at the test? I've never taken one so I really wouldn't know LOL.

Anyways, good luck with it

Umm, dude, why would you want to cheat on a test if you want to become a police officer.... honesty is kinda important, no?

My wife had the surgery done over a year ago & says to anyone who asks that it was the best thing she ever did.
She chose London Place in New Westminster based on two things: #1 - They've been doing surgeries since 1985 & #2 - They are completely "no touch".
Nothing but good things to say about them & her costs were about $2500 including a term of no interest financing as well as lifetime guarantee if the procedure reverses itself.
Medical covered only what would have been spent on glasses for that year (about $200).

must be new...I understand they change rules and regs a lot - one old guy here didn't complete his trainning 50yrs ago because they told him he couldn't be married until 10yrs after he started!

Too bad about the hearing test. 10dB is cuttting it close. I would have a re-test done if I were you. It is not uncommon for there to be a 5-10dB variance between test/retest.

That is exactly what I am going to do. Hide from Ms.Tuner (she has a habit of yelling, I don't know why as I do nothing wrong), will go later in the day and to a different clinic with a different testing machine and see if there are differences. I had my test done before and 2 years back I was at the -18 db level. So that is a huge drop in a short period of time and I do not expose myself to loud noise ever.

So, can someone turn off the big light in the sky please. I just had my pupils dilated and now my pupils make me look like I am the worlds biggest crack addict, strung out on meth and smoking pot all at the same time. New type of drops they are using so it seems, little stinging and within seconds, zero ability to focus. So now 2 hours later I am just starting to be able to focus on distanct objects but going outside is just absolutely no fun. I even have to put off all of the daily pricechecks. Well at least I know that laser surgery is now an option.
