Without the lying hype they generated by being one of the first DLP rear projestions they would still be considered(and are) a second to third tier brand at best. if you have room for it look at a regular crt based rear projection. If you have a controlled light enviroment(basement, no windows) look at a front projector. If you dont need/want that big of a picture look at a 34" widscreen crt, which will give you the best picture under $10,000 but in a smaller size.
