Yes its a real attention getter. There is a definate psychological effect on the target when they hear that slide being racked.

 

I am a letter carrier for Canada Post and for 25 years we carried a small container of mace. Now we have to carry a larger container of bear repelant. I have not had a chance to use it yet. [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

 

i can pick up a telescopic baton at the local army suplus store for 70$, i got my nightstick for 20 [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img]

when in doubt swing for a knee or a rib.... any would be thug loses their stones when they cant walk or breathe,

like i said, ive never had to use my nightstick, but ive been glad i had it, cus it does make the other person hesitate long enuff for u to remove yourself from the situation

so many things are illegal tho, u cant legally have a baseball bat in your car unless u have something like a glove, ball or cleats as well or its considered a weapon,

and honestly if it ever came down to it, id rather one of my female friends get a fine for a first time prohibited weapon charge over being the victim of a rape or murder, same goes for myself id rather have my nightstick taken by the cops then not have it in a situation where my personal safety was in danger,

im not tryin to sound like a tough guy cus id rather walk away from a fight but ive got a few friends who have either been saved by havin somethin like that, or been messed up bad cus they didnt.

like thank god i dont live in a city where i have to carry a weapon on me all the time but i do feel alot better knowing i have something there if need be,

see now we need the pepper spray for work at UPS, all we got if a dog comes at us is our DIAD.... and in my case my work knife....
i think they are just paranoid we would spray our bosses when they are being stupid lol

 

stuff i thought i`d add - the club (steering wheel lock) can make a nice weapon... one of my buddys had a cheaper club that was basically a pipe that latched on the steeering wheel - he got pulled over once for speeding ( i think) and the cop made him (asked) to lock and unlock it to prove it worked and was not there for a weapon

as for weapons in general - you have to remember any weapon you have on you can be taken off you and used on you ....

BUT- anyone considering any personal defense tool or 'weapon' should follow my adivice and go to thier local gun store.... They will know more about this then anyone....

only problem with stun guns, is u discharge one in public and the cops treat it the same as firing a real gun, which carries alot stiffer penalties if caught with it, had a friend get busted chasing a guy thru a bar with one..... unlucky bastard lol.....

oh yeah forgot totally to answer the question.. lol Most sporting good store (fishing, hunting, etc) carry it... You can also check the Army Surplus just north of Dundas on Yonge, if you dont find the mace there is always a abundance of knives, cobra canes, or whatever else tickles your fancy...
