new tires

Ok normally in the summer I've been running 285 Baja widetrack mt's, they're cheap(175 a pop) and relativly tough (havn't had any flats on the 300km of gravel between Gillam & Thompson)
well, I was putting on my Bfg Allterrains for the winter and decided I need a new pair of Baja's since 2 of em are pretty much wore out (the back ones, go figure )
so I goes to my regular tire shop in FlinFlon and I find out they've discontinued the Baja Mt's
so now I need to pick new tire
any suggestions ......remember they're going on a 7500lb truck that does lots of highway miles (about 40,000km a year) and they got to handle gravel (tire noise is not a concerne, puncture resistance is)
I was thinking of Swamper trxus mt's, Pro comp xterrains, toyo open country Mt's, or something along those lines (havn't priced any of them out yet, I suspect i may have a heart attack when I do)
anybody any experience with any of those tires or other suggestions
I can fit 35's but wanna stick with 33's since my spares are 33's and it's damn high enough to climb up into allready (I'm short and fat )

BFG Mud's have a similiar tread design, I believe. What about the Goodyear muds? My bro has a set of Pro Comp Xterrains, nice tire. Not sure on what kind of lifespan he will get out of them yet, though.
i have the 36.5 x12.5 TSL bias ply (8ply one)
i have had one spike(spike not a sissy nail) go into my tire but it never went flat
if i was to get new tires for off road i would get
BFG M/T's (or MTR's)
TRUXUS muds
or a TSL radial (not bias ply agian too strong for my bronco and i could run like 15psi i bet they wouldn't compress much...)
Another cheap muddin tire lke the BFG M/T is Mud Kings,
The Xterrains ive seen wear pretty quick

I use the Goodyear Wrangler MTR on my lifted F350 and have no complaints at all. 60000km's + and I still have half decent tread left. It's a nice aggressive tire that doesn't howl too bad, has been good on the gravel and snow (when it snows) and doesn't make the road train drive like a bowl of jello.

I had the Big O MT`s. They were pricey $250 a pop and were soft and wore out quickly. The absolute best warranty on the market though. Free replacement down to 2/32", with minor (obvious) exceptions.
Ended up buying 33x12.5x15 General Grabber MT`s. These tires are like Rhino hide. Tough and somewhat pliable, average warranty. But pretty cheap.
Had BFG`s and found knockoffs to be just as good or better. BFG`s seem to be overated. Go to www.bc4x4.com or www.funinbc.com and ask the same question.
Hell go with the new 49" Irok and lift the bugger.
