Newbie here!

Been doing some research on upgrading my system and keep coming back to this forum so I guess I better join. Got a 2010 Focus and well speakers were crap so swapped them out for Infinity Reference 6" x 8" s and well a great improvement. Got them at Futureshop NW by Costco got them to install as well and they were great for service. I am sure I will get to hear some Futureshop nightmares. My experience was great!
The speakers are light on base so next step is going to be to order the Infinity Kappa one amp and the Kappa sub as well as the Kappa Four amp to power the 4 Infinity Reference 6" x 8". Might get some tweets as well. Once I get all this ordered and in I will get the same Future shop to install...........

Or do I hear better options?

There are many brands to choose from and not just infinity, Keep looking around at other brands on the net and in stores.

The only place to buy car audio around here is Future Shop and they only have a few brands, I usually have to order online.

Personally I think should of went with Components for the front because they will sound a lot better, But of course they are more expensive.

AND make sure you have a good judgment on something before you buy it, It really sucks having something installed in your car for the first time and it sounds like crap because you decided to make a quick purchase without any thoughts into it.

First off, welcome to CCA.......

There are always options, whether they are better ones is up to you and your ears.....

If you are happy with the sound of the Infinity's by all means stick with them. It will make a substantial difference if and when you put an amp on them, adding a dedicated sub will as well.

Which model of Focus do you have? 2 or 4 doors or a wagon? A buddy of mine has the wagon version, he didn't want a sub in the back because he camps a lot. We put a Kenwood Excelon 6X9 in each door, threw about 60W each at them and he is quite happy with the overall sound.

If you haven't done so already get all of the doors deadened....it made a huge difference in his car and will help yours too.

Don't worry about adding tweeters to the coaxes, when you are ready to upgrade you will want to take out the ones you have anyway and get a good component set instead......

Congrats on finding a decent FS to get things done, it just goes to show that there are some out there that employ people who give a crap and can get the job done.....

Have fun with the new toys and welcome to the obsession......

Thank you for the responses! Sorry had a spontaneous road trip to Vegas. Did not take my car or I might have got some work done down there. I did rush a bit with the Infinity Reference speakers all around. I think I will up grade the fronts to components and leave the back door speakers. Like the reviews of the new Infinity amps so think I will stick with them. Need to keep researching the sub though. If I have a 4 channel amp for the front 4 speakers and upgrade to components do I need a second amp for the tweeters?
I have the 2010 Focus SE its a 4 door. According to Ford they have deadened all the doors factory. Will check if that needs a up grade though as well.
So some questions. In a sedan with a sub in the back what will sound the best? 8 or 10 inch? Ported or non ported box? Or do I get it custom built into the side of the trunk?
Thanks!

When you do the upgrade, bridge the 4channel and throw it all at the components up front....done correctly you won't care about your rears anymore so you can rip them out completely.....

Ford may have done a little to the doors but you still need to put some mat on the doors to calm them right down.

Subs depends on how much bass you crave.....a single good 8 in the right box would fill in the bottom end nicely for a medium powered system. If you want to ground pound you will need more in the trunk......if you want to go stupid loud you could always wall it off......
