i have found myself lately intergrating with the factory cd player more than ever. i belive that many of the factory cd player are as good if not better than "aftermarket" units. we use the soundgate loc's and have had great sucess. it would be interesting to see some head to head reviews of a stock toyota cd player vs a aftermarket cd player , pioneer, sony etc.

ive never met a fresh out of mobile dynamics "student" with little more use to me than pushing a broom. i put very little value in a mobile dymaics diploma, what m/d does is great for our industry, it get younger people interested and slightly educated which isnt a bad thing, but like mike said most come out thinking that they are now a real installer, and thats simply not the case.

btw i did read that article and thought it was interesting, but may have to side with dukk on this one [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Yikes, did I hear Dave just say factory CD players aren't bad?! I guess if you feed the signal into a PXA-H701 they are o.k.

 

some factory stuff isnt bad, but i think a head to head comparison with some aftermarket cd players would be interesting. ddwvw have you ever used to soundgate loc's, we just did on a subaru wrx, with a set of avi components, avi woofer and a alpine 4 channel and i was suprprised how it sounded for what it was

 

I'll be keeping my factory CD player in the car. It's simple to use and crackheads don't want it

I plan to augment it with an Alpine 1656 changer controller and matching changer for real line level signal as well.

 

I've done one with a Novone LOC, they work well.

 

i heard that the navone loc is the same as the soundgate, is that true?
