polaris sportsman 700 atv
Can you test out other makes/models when you go and look at this one? It's always a good idea to try out others, even if you have no interest in buying one, just makes for a better comparison.
I've always been a big fan of smaller bikes, I've owned 3 brand new suzuki 230's, but I have always wanted a warrior which will probably be my next bike, they may be the most bullet proof atv ever made next to honda's 110 atc. Not a big fan of the raptor or the ds650, but if yamaha ever smartens up and puts reverse in a banshee, I will be all over it.
The one thing about Polaris besides the manitenance/breakage factor, is the cost when you need to fix these things. On some models (maybe all, don't know) they don't use a generic type headight bulb so the replacements cost $25 a piece. I've always liked the looks of the Sportsman and other Polaris atv lineup, but I can't ever seeing myself buying one. (just my personal taste)

Could sell you my old 84 Honda ATC 200x. Has the original 200 cc motor, full suspension but also comes with a Yamaha RD 500 that bolts right in.
Nothing like crusin at over a 100Mph across a frozen lake. Pisses off the snowmobilers when you leave them in the snow dust.
Its my old race bike. I never get to ride it anymore, so whats the use in having it? Guess it means more sentimental than anything.

Stay with Bombardier and polaris as they are North American built. You can find yourself with a lot of down time and forking out large amounts of cash to fix those Japanese made engines. (Arctic Cat uses Suzuki engines)Just my 2 cents and in my biased oppinion I would get a Bombi.
My buddies selling his, i think 2001 or 02 sportsman 700 for 7g's. Things a monster compared to others i've used, banshee, raptor, etc...totally diff beast though. I never got to take it any farther than the end of my driveway though.
This is the year he has... http://www.polarisindustries.com/img...commercial.wmv
I posted this when he bought it, he's a rich bugger, and is just selling to buy a new toy.

a banshee with reverse would be the greatest thing ever. i haven't driven the raptor yet but watching my neighbour pull wheelie through all the gears all the way down my street makes me want one. the banshee's are just plain fast the accel of those things is nuts. but the warrior is good reliable quad that has some power, and reverse. i've never had a problem with buying parts for jap bikes. my uncle probably has close to 35 dirtbikes, sleds, trikes, or jet ski's and i have yet to hear him complain. and he runs mostly honda machines. he buys them cheap then completly rebuilds them then if its not a honda he sells it otherwise he keeps it.
Best quad I ever rode was last year on the new Suzuki LTZ-400. It's plenty fast enough, and it handles WAY better than the Yamaha Raptor.
Best workhorse quad is and always has been the Honda's. You can never go wrong with Honda when it comes to machines like that...quads,bikes and such....they are built very well, I have yet to break one doing anything, although the Sportsman 700 is also a killer machine. I just can't justify $8K+ for something like that, I'd geta used one if you can find it.

Ive got a grizzly 660, sweet quad. I use it for working around the farm, plenty of power lots of fun and can tow like a bitch. We got a 2000 lb winch on it, so it is good for pulling out stuck vehicles.
We have upgraded it though. Weve got 28x10x12 Super Swamper tires and 12x7 DNA Cast Aluminum Wheels, skid plates, the usual thing ya know
hope this helps
