Hello everyone, I posted before about touching up my Polished RIms. I picked up a Grinder/Polisher and some polisher compound. My question is the compound is in bar form and when I try to scrap a piece out to polish it becomes almost like powder. What steps do I take from here to polish, do I have to apply some heat to the bar compound?

EDIT: Heres sorta what the bar looks like

Apply it to the polishing wheel not the rim, Also with the compound less is more.

I figured the polish would go on the wheel, my problem is when I try to break a small piece of the compound off it becomes like powder and pieces that do stay solid are dificult because there so small.
