Instead of bitching that the NHL isn't on TV, go support your local hockey team. Be it OHL, WHL, CHL, junior B, your local midget team...support the teams who play because the love of the sport and not the $$$.

Ya but it dosent take millions of dollars to pay the bills to survive unless you count paying your nannys and landscapers and upkeep on your $300,000 cars and million dollar houses as neccesitys, they should be playing for 10 bux an hour if they want to play that bad

Our hockey rink back in Sask sold those shirts. Almost bought one...but beer came first.
But I feel that these players can still be paid a very intising salary to play hockey, but there has to be a cap somewhere. IMO anyone making over a mil a year is over paid. Think of other professions out there that someone can get paid a mil a year to do. Think about the amount of schooling and dedication they have had to put in to get there. Same can be said about the NHL. Alot of time and dedication has to be put in to make it to the big leagues, but to be paid 7-10+ mil a year to play a sport? IMO no professional athlete is worth more than a mil a year. Honestly. Think of it, average live of a professional athlete is probably what? 5-10 years? Thats 10 million dollars to play a game. Thats not including promotional money and such. Think of the profits these teams could make with a salary cap like that?
I dunno...maybe I'm just getting old and grumpy.

Not everyone can condition themselves as well as a hockey player, watch Making The Cut man it shows u only half of what they go through. They have to stay conditioned all through the year, they're away from their families more often than not except for the off season.
I'm not saying they deserve to be paid more than a mil or even half a mil. I agree there should be a cap. I'm basically stating for all these people that go through schooling and such to get to their high paid profession pro atheletes go through a different sort of 'schooling' if you wanna put it that way even tho it may not even be schooling.
