thank u lumina kid and Terry for sticking up for me. Mega u da man

the dog is in training. the dog is NOT trained to be a guard dog, the plans have changed. he's trained to be a family dog and a show dog.

MR2 u still didnt answer my question, how do u play with your dog if u dont come into physical contact with it? a dog doesnt want to sit there and play chess, they are animals and their form of play involves teeth and claws. So please tell me how do u play with your dog if u do at all?

Chillin is the key word, I'm outside freezin my a$$ off in the dark on this pain in the buttcrack remote starter on a 1 ton cube van that is too high for the bay. Talk about slow a guy down.

Yuli, good to hear that he is not a guard dog. Even better to hear that he is being trained. Now, our dogs are highly social animals that live in packs, it's in there very nature. (Z24 - not packs of wolves, packs of sled dogs that are born to pull). My other half, Bev, is much more involved with our dogs and animal rescue in general as compared to myself. She is able to run her very busy business from the house and I am quite sure that every now and then there is play time for them. Our malamutes are our companions, they want to be with us at all times.

Yuli, what we do with our dogs is simple, rope toys to play tug with. This means that the dogs are using their teeth and pulling against us. They do not have their teeth on us or our clothing. If they get to rambuncious or show any signs of aggression, it is stopped immediately. Most important, the dogs are never allowed to win, we win every time as this shows the dog who is in control. We have numerous ***** for them to play with, a dog pool for the hot summer days (malamutes have 2 coats). We own the toys, the food, the water, not them and once they understand this (need reminders every now and then), the game returns to normal once again.

We have a fully fenced dog yard for them to run in. Not a typical backyard either. They have their own toy boxes in their rooms to pull out whatever they want. Most often though, they just want to lay beside you or near you or at night, right on top of you. In winter, sometimes Bev will hook them to a sled on the skihill and have them pull supplies around to the different chalets. You have never ever seen an excited dog until you see a malamute wanting to go out in the snow. If my dog could play chess, he would whoop my butt, that is how smart these dogs truly are.
