Steel Toe Boots
#1
Ok, I have to buy a pair of workboots for my summer job in the mine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll be buying them in Edmonton. Price is basically no object within reason. I just want something that is going to be comfortable on my feet 10 hours a day, and not fall apart. Thanks.

I've had my Wolverines for well over 10 years....there in rough shape but there still isn't any metal showing on the toes I also have a pair of those boots with the rubber over the toes (courtesy of GM).....I simply can't get comfortable in them.

As a forklift operator myself, I know all the stuff going through an operators mind, he CAN forget to do something once and a while like check over his shoulder while backing up, which is probably what happened to you today.

I had a pair of Caterpillars for about two years, but was not impressed with the quality, although I believe it was a design flaw and was fixed. I recently picked up a pair of Cofra boots from Mark's and they are sweet. A fraction of the weight of regular steel boots because of some crazy polymer instead of steel, and much more flexible and comfy. The best part is, they are made in Italy, not (insert prefix here)-stan. I only buy boots from Mark's now, their return policy is very impressive.

Red Wings....cost me like $280 but they are bar none the best boot ive owned, super comfy, they give you one free re-soling and have AMAZING warrenty. I also got a pair of Terra's from Zellers for like $80 that are nice as well, but the Red Wings kick their ***.

I've used Red wings, Terra's and Various cheapo's.
I love my Red Wings and Terra's weren't bad at all.
It's like most things in life, you get what you pay for, so those 60$ boots will be very uncomfortable.
