try unpluging the hard drives and then plug em back in. my comp would start, or it would then jsut freeze. turns out that one of the HD cables wasnt in all the way.

i'd disconnect ever not needed component youc an from the mobo. Remove the drives, expansion cards, memory and everything. Double check your power cables to the board, as well as from the front power connector, and then try powering it on.

See if you can at least get some memory errors.

If not, i'd try reseating the processor and heatsink and see if it'll post now.

The thing is there is no power comming to the mother board. I press the switch to turn the computer on and even the power supply fan doesnt turn. Dont I need power first to even get some error messages.

you could have a faulty power switch on the case.

locate the power switch header on the motherboard, it should be a 2-pin connection from the power switch on the case to the motherboard. You just need something to connect those 2 pins momentarily. A jumper will work, or even using a screwdriver to connect them.

Try that first, that will tell you if your board is really dead or just the switch.
