Plasma will perform better for anything with action (sports, movies, etc.) because the pixels have a better refresh rate but currently they aren't cost effective for anything below 37".

Therefore, LCD is your choice in flat panel & I would look at the Sharp LC32D7U or 5U & the Panasonic TC-32LX50.

Well isn't it true that plasmas "burn out" in about 3 years or less? LCD's seem to be the more reasonable "bang for the buck".

msot plasmas now have a 40,000 hour garentee or more. figure if yoru tv is on for liek 12 hours a day thats 9 years. not too shaby for any tv. i personaly dont liek LCD tv's off axis picture. they darken out to quickly where plasmas you can be right beside the tv and everything is still visable.

if your lookin for a plasma, then the LG42PX11 is what you want it's a plasma that has 60,000 hrs of panel life as well as the xd engine which helps clean up the 'snow' on regular cable. we just sold 5 of these sets to the fox and hounds! and the price is nice for a wall mount plasma $2488. LCD's are good only for vid games I find
