I guess the dilemna was that he could either be put to death or kept in jail for life.
Obviously California went route #1 but maybe if they chose dorr #2 he could've kept working on his anti-gang initiatives.
Judging by the response to this death sentence by the general population, celebrities & the Nobel Peace group, maybe this was a tougher decision than we know?

i belive in the death penilty .

you cant escape your sins by doing good.

unfortunatly you have to pay for any sin you comit.

whether it be loosing a friend for lying to them , or geting the chair for killing someone.

I'd like to think the death penalty helps, I personally beleive in it. But, america has more people, per capita, in prison then any other free country. Is that not a detterant? Guess not.

If they are going to have the death penalty, use it or lose it. To keep these people locked up for 25 years is just plain wrong when they have been sentenced to death. Imagine how quick the crime rate would go down if you had been sentenced to death and the deed was done within 6 months. Deterrent, yup.
