I guess the dilemna was that he could either be put to death or kept in jail for life.
Obviously California went route #1 but maybe if they chose dorr #2 he could've kept working on his anti-gang initiatives.
Judging by the response to this death sentence by the general population, celebrities & the Nobel Peace group, maybe this was a tougher decision than we know?

If they are going to have the death penalty, use it or lose it. To keep these people locked up for 25 years is just plain wrong when they have been sentenced to death. Imagine how quick the crime rate would go down if you had been sentenced to death and the deed was done within 6 months. Deterrent, yup.

if you are sentenced to death, they should take you from the courtroom and directly tothe gas chamber, electric chair of whatever method is desired. let the family begin the healing precess immediatley and save everyone alot of money. i very much belive in capitol punuishment and would like to see it available as an option in more countries.
