Got a lecture from some old guy in the process. He was pretty ademate about the fact that he saw them testing these on teh speed channel and that there's absolutely no difference between silverstars or similar and stock stuff.

It really depends on the headlight housing. It's like most newer cars use clear plastic and when that is the case you do notice quite a difference. Look at my other thread and you can see how bright they are. If you don't think those are whiter and brighter than stock you're crazy. But if your car is a little older and uses the thick, glass housing and it's gone yellow with grime and other crap, well, then you probably won't notice a difference.
But, assuming you have clearer headlight housings or a newer car, you certainly should see a difference. And whether they get noticeably brighter or not, they are a lot whiter then having the dim, dull looking yellow bulbs. Just my two cents. Look at my other thread and compare the lights I put in with yellow bulbs. I think mine look far better personally.

I would go to xenondepot.com and get the real HID lights. Those $50 are ok but there is nothing like real HID lights.
I had Silverstars on a old car from Canadian Tire and they were ok but again, nothing like the real thing.
Xenon Depot is a Canadian company and treated me pretty good. Only about $450 plus tax for a kit for real Phillips HID kits, there are other kits that are around $250 and are still as good.
