if you are on a one lane highway and you have something go bad in your car ,there is no side of the road to go to and it is unsafe to stop
Q do you have to stop there or are you require to get to the next pull off where it is safe to do so ?
I’m being told that i need to stop there by icbc where if would of placed me and family in harms way
if you are on a Bridge and you get a flat what do you have to do ?

I'm no cop, but I know the rules of the road.
If you have a major malfunction and your car wont go, then you pull off as far to the right as possible and turn on your 4 way flashers, get everyone out of the car and as far away from the vehcile and road as possible but within sight for saftey. If you have triangles or flares put them out.
If you have a cell phone you can call a tow truck and or the police to help you become visable.
If you get a flat on a bridge, you slow down and pull as right as possible and put on your 4 way flashers. You should drive slowly to get off the bridge and pull as far right as possible on the shoulder, everyone out of the car again, and again use cautions if you have them. If you have a cell phone you can call a tow truck or the police to help you become more visable.

is it not you pull off where the 1st safe place is ,as far off the road as you can ,open your hod and your 4ways on
flag a tow , a cop ,and or help
all of what i did and icbc is saying i needed to stop at the point where your light came on (which would have left me in harmway
Sounds to me like you kept going after the light came on thus damaging the motor more,correct?
Just a heads up for you,when you do something like that for whatever reason youre not suppose to tell them lol(yes sir i pulled over right away) bottom line is they dont care if you pulled over in a safe area or not ,they only care if they have to pay or not.

icbc will pay for the pipe to go back on no the motor work that is form the pipe being off the motor

Demand that they pay for whatever damages or else threaten legal action. You will probably have to take them to some sort of small case court to get your money out of them, as a judge will most likely rule what you did as being the correct thing to do.
