For you smokers
my grandfather had lung cancer twice, both times docs operated, and removed 1/3 of each lung, after the first diagnosis my mother quit cold turkey (thank god) unfortunately my grandmother quit, then started again a few times...
my grandfather was later diagnosed with a brain tumor that caused stroke like symptoms he died shortly before xmas a couple years ago, cancer robs u of so much, u gotta ask yourself, is that momentary release or whatever u get from smoking worth dying slowly and watching your loved ones seeing u go from vibrant and full of life to frail and helpless?

I am truly sorry to hear about your grandmother -- my father had 3 strokes in one year, I went from watching Canadiens games with him to changing his diaper until he died in '96. If not for the money you'll save, feeling better, being sick less... than think of those who love you and quit ( I realize it's very hard though... that's why I never started ).
I lost my mother almost 4 years ago to advanced lung cancer, she never smoked a day in her life, but my father had smoked for years up until the late 60's. She was never exposed to smoke at her workplace, it seems the damage was done. I know the exact pain that you and your family is seeing and there is no words that can express how it is felt. All the best to you and your family in this trying time. Seems that even this did not convince my other half to stop smoking, she's killing me with her second hand, a pack a day, and she does not even realize it.
