I reformatted tonight and was not paying attention to what I was doing when I installed xp and the partion I created was disk F instead of C because i still had my USB flash card drive plugged in and it became C.

I know it is not a big deal but is there a simple way to relable the partition?

get a dos/win98 bootdisk and go into fdisk and make the drive you want the active partition

I just want to rename the drive not select another drive or partition

rename the drive you right click on it and go to properties then change the volume name. I assumed you wanted to make your hard drive C: again. If thats what you wanted follow my previous statement

If Windows is installed and your primary drive is now F: ... you're screwed. A TON of stuff will break if you change it.

However, you can sometimes change it here:
Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management ... then find Disk Management under Storage. Might be able to move it there.
