6x9 applications

In case some of you haven't figured it out yet, I thrive on is being unconventional.
With that being said, I have been brainstorming and measuring for kick panels for my 64 Caddy. After quite a bit of measuring, it would seem that a 6x9 standing tall/upright would fit perfectly. Since medium-good SQ at HIGH volume is what I am after, would/could a 6x9 make a decent choice? I have never seen it done before (which makes me want to do it all the more), but I am not sure why.

if you chose the right 6x9, I don't see any reason you couldn't make it sound decent at all.

If I'm not crazy, the "oval" shape standing tall and angled towards me would seem to help raise the sound stage. No?

BTW,
I forgot to mention I am going to use the original center dash location and use it as a center channel configuration.
If that makes any difference. (which is also a 6x9 opening roughly)

yup, yer crazy...lol....I don't see how that would have any effect on stage height from down in the kicks, kinda hard to imagine any shape helping or hurting the sound waves climb up onto the dash. all the other drivers' placement will determine that. the whole sound up high thing is an illusion anyway, so I could be dead wrong about it.

Cool idea though, hope it works out for you.

that will certainly help your cause.
