Replacing single DVC sub with SVC in stereo enclosure.

Background: I have in my possession a Cerwin Vega FR12-3 sub enclosure that needs a new sub.

It is a stereo enclosure that contains 2 tweeters, 2 mids, and 1 DVC 12" sub.

Obviously the ideal replacement would be another DVC 4+4ohm sub, but I'm curious about replacing it with a SVC sub, thus losing the "stereo" attribute, making it mono.

But I am confused. What would the impedance seen by the amp be if I put a SVC 4ohm sub in in place of the original DVC sub? I am assuming the original was 4+4ohm.

BTW, I have tried Googling some info on the Cerwin Vega FR12-3, but haven't found a thing. What's interesting is that I took out the busted original Cerwin 12", and stamped on the magnet is the date "May 16, 1989"!! Vintage!!

Box, mids, and tweets are in great shape though!
