Is the Clarion DRZ 9255 capable of playing pure SACD (without the hybrid red book layer) ???

Thanks...Keith

The Clarion DRZ-9255 is only a CD player..... with 24bit BurrBrown DACs which will not support SACD unfortunately.

I don't think there are any Car SACD player out yet..... just DVD-A.

I don't know of a SACD car player either.

If you're looking for 5.1 audio playback, the closest thing might be the Pioneer AVH-P7600DVD in-dash monitor which supports DVD-Audio & DTS-CD.

Excuse me for being a little , but has anyone listened to DVD Audio is a MOVING car? I have not, I am just wondering if the benefits of DVD-A and SACD could be enjoyed in a moving vehicle with all the inherent noise. This is not intended as a dig -- I am posting it here to avoid the usual cat calling and "audio vodoo" jabs of the idiots that often hijack posts.

Hey Mike,

I have DVD-Audio playback in my car (but have limited software). Although it obviously sounds better when the car is stopped, the benefits from multi-channel audio are still there when the car is in motion.
Next time I'm by the store we can go for a drive (if you're there) & you can draw your own conclusions.
