Just found out that the guy had a rap sheet and he's now doing 5-10 years.

He wouldn't have been charged and convicted so quickly (1 week). Possibly he could get 5-10. But its up to the namby pamby liberal judge that hears the case. It will likely be a year or so till he's convicted. Unless he pleads guilty and goes for a quick (and reduced) sentence.

4:30, thats about the same time my stuff got stolen, but I didnt catch the bastard, however I knew who it was. My cousin, im sure he needed money for "candy" and "cigarettes". So the day after my stuff got stolen, I beat the crap out of him and he admitted he did it. I never got reinbursed for my stuff, but it felt nice to let out my anger.
