Ah man thieves suck! I had 2 robbery attempts on my car. The first one they broke the lock on the drivers door and managed to get in but they failed to steal my factory deck (idiot). So he pumped my trunk and stole spare tires and my rear speakers. All in all $200 worth ehich the insurance company paid.
Now i always lock my trunk so it cant be opened from inside. Plus i take out my reciever panel. Most importantly i installed a viper alarm which triggers a mad loud alarm which almost gave my dad a heart attack. It goes off if any of the doors, trunk or windows are opened. It also has a mic sensitive for breaking glass sound w/backup battery. Also a interior motion sensor wired to the horn. I have not atached my sub or amp to anything, i think the trunk lock can help and the bright flashing alarm light will deter thieves.
Second robbery was in scarborough towncenter parking at 11pm. When i disarmed my alarm it made No noise but my turn signaLs flashed, also my door lock was broken again. I wont say why for security reasons. However the idiot proly forgot the horn and the motion sensor. He didnt steal anything im guessing he ran for it or he couldnt get my trunk open. Anyway just lost few cd albums.

I caught a guy here in Ottawa breaking into my girl's car at like 4 a.m. in front of our old apartment building. I choked him out until the cops arrived, and whats really stupid is that the insurance company wouldn't pay for the damages on her car even though there was a police report. They said the damage could have been from anything. (broken driver window and messed up lock) All she had was one of those triangle Bazooka subs with a little kenwood amp.

this thread is unbelievable... here i am always trying to show off where ever i go to let everyone know that there is mad bass comin outta my minivan. im scared to show people the fact that i drive it now lol. but... i guess its less likely to get robbed in a minivan (even though its happened before....for a couple cartons of smokess that my dad needed for restocking at his work)... but for a sound system theyll never know.
Jmac_Thunder - so sorry to hear about that kind of bs man. the fact that we all need a standard car alarm in every vehicle...or even upgraded security systems in this case is sad (not to sound so naive). glad the $1500 insurance thing worked out though

it didnt use to be like this, at least not in Toronto. Now i actually know friends who's cars have been robbed. i mean ffs a spare tire? cd albums??? if you don't gotta alarm then don't leave anything valuable in there and don't trust your alarm to safeguard it. you need a good lock for the trunk and immobilizer for the car.
