Stolen - well not quite

Stolen - well not quite
I just install a customers cd player and the customer is in here paying the bill. He goes out to his car and I hear, "hey, that guy stole my cd player". Turns out that dude is riding a bike right towards me as I hear this. The customer is hot on his tail, 50 feet later the customer grabs the kids jacket and knocks him off his bike. The dude drops the cd player and keeps running. By then I was 15 feet away and running . I caught this dude and 220 pounds landed square on his back the second he turned to see if anyone was behind him. Wham onto the pavement he goes. Hold one arm down with one hand and his head with the other. All my weight is on his back. Kid is toast for now. I took him down expecting something else to happen and it does, he has a knife in the other hand. I order him to throw it away, he does not. I repeat the order and he does not comply. I put my knee on his head and remove the knife out of his hand and throw it away. The kid was fighting for all he was worth.
Mistake #1, I let the dude come up, even though I have both of his arms behind his back. I lean him over a car. The dude grabs me by the shorts and starts lifting, now he grabs the big guy and I immediately take him to the ground, he does not release. I drift him once in the head, he releases. Now he is on his back and trying to eye gouge me. I use my left hand and force his head to the side. I have all my weight on his chest. I drill him twice with my right hand and knocked him out. Game over. Someone comes and holds one arm down while I keep his body immobile and his right arm pinned. Then we watch the police drive right on by as they were looking for us. All over a $50.00 cd player. Stupid dude just got out of jail for theft under two months ago. Now he has a assault charge and another theft charge to go on his rap sheet that is pages long. See you next year when you get out a$$clown.
I will never make mistake #1 again. I also do not recommend that anyone try something like this at the same time. I went into this expecting the worst and sure enough that is exactly what happened. Anyway that is my excitement for the day.

At no point in time did I want to hurt this person, I should have made that clear. All I wanted to do was restrain him and prevent myself from being hurt. When he decided to struggle and fight (and fight dirty as he went for my nuts, then throat and finally my eyes), it was only then that I used enough force to incapacitate him. Nobody should openly be looking to cause another person harm in any circumstance.
Again, I entered into this expecting the worst and had I not thought that he had something under his coat, the entire thing could have turned out way different. In 5 seconds he went from nothing in his hands (as I had been watching them while I was running after him) to me being launched through the air and taking him to the ground and pinning both him and each arm. By the time he hit the ground, the knife was in his left hand.
The bad news is that he pleaded out for the theft charge and the Crown dropped the assault charge. 30 days and that is all he gets for a repeat offender. (and a banged up face from some 2 nice KO punches + a little pavement grind).

Thats a serious episode you went through lol! But seriously, you have to watch your back now because if this guy has his boys, you need to install a camera in the back of your head. Oh man, I would be afraid for my life the moment he gets out of jail. But good, glad that you knocked his *** out. Well Done!
