instal closed circuit camera's in front of your house looking at where the car is parked, in a less than desirable neighborhood, you will be suprised at how many thugs and scumbags notice those little camera's. More than notice, they see them pointing right at your ride, get the night vision ones and a dvr card for your computer it will record up to 20 or more hours depending on your hard drive size. I did it after i got ripped off and all my stuff stolen. Funny i hear people in the neighborhood sayin, stay away from that house, there are cameras everywhere even pointing at the street. I just laugh to my self. And it was pretty cheap investment via ebay... 3 camera's, wire and dvr card under $100.00. Have not had a problem since.

at 3 a.m.... theres often crownds of 10 or more people walking around in front of my house and i dont feel safe with my car parked out front... every 20 minutes 2 cars pull up someone gets out and into the other car (very legal buisness transaction occurs within) then they get back in their cars and drive away
so anyway im amazed i havent had any gear stolen (even tho my gear sucks) a outdoor webcam or some camera of some sort would be helpful so i could watch and record the events transpiring in front of my hosue without even leaving my bedroom

Ain't racism grand.

some ideas are good to say but some should be kept a secret

well, Their all great tips and all will help prevent for the average car audio guy. But someone like me, well I don't think I would hold my sponsorship, if everything was all stock looking. Some of us, very few have an actual reason to post or products , Because thats part of our sponsor ship.

There's nothing wrong with resurrecting an old thread if you have valid information to add to the conversation. That's the whole purpose of having an archive, for Christ's sake.
Another good one: Be careful about posting information on local forums (like this) about where you live and the gear you have, where it's installed, etc. This is just a map for a local bad guy to pick up some nice gear. Makes it that much easier for him if he knows exactly what he's looking for and where it's located (both in the car, and in the city).
Great tips, y'all.
